The Klangzelle (German, meaning a sound telephone booth) is a former telephone booth equipped with several dials designed by Ninja Guru, the studio for interactive design. Each dial corresponds to a different sound material. By interacting with the installation, visitors can create entirely new musical compositions. The Klangzelle does not only play the role of a unique art object but also allows you to discover new information. The sound material is in fact based on various recordings from the region where the Klangzelle is placed. Interviews, field recordings, soundscapes, soundwalks, poems and pieces of music are recorded, edited and then used in this interactive installation.
